The Province of Groningen invests 6.5 milion more in the RIG-susidies 2017. This funding is meant for larger companies in the Eemsdelta and at Zernike Campus Groningen. Including this extra investment, the Province has contributed 17.5 milion in total to the RIG-grant.
RIG
The RIG was started in 2014, to give an impulse to the business climate and employment of industrial companies in the Eemsdelta and the Zernike Campus Groningen. The total available grant of 40 milion is made available in four tranches. At this moment, RIG2017 is the third tranche in this row. The extra money is being made available, because of the large interest in the grant.
Syncom expands with RIG
Syncom, a large chemical company at Zernike Campus, is one of the companies that benefits from the RIG grant. The company is going to develop new products and will get sixteen to twenty additional job openings. Following the expansion in 2015, the company has grown rapidly resulting in further expansion. The province contributes 206,000 euros from the Regional Investment Groningen (RIG) budget, intended for companies at the Zernike Science Park and in the Eemsdelta. You can read more HERE.
