Would you like to see what it takes to provide 3.5 million households with electricity? Want to find out about the production of plaster and building materials from fuel gases the plant catches during the preparation of coal? Come join teh Energy Academy in a visit to the Eemshaven power plant, find out the answers to all your questions and learn about the challenges that RWE faces today!
In 2015 RWE put a new ultramodern power plant with a capacity of 1,560 megawatts into operation in Eemshaven Groningen. This new power plant is to play an important role in the country’s energy supply in future years in order to keep energy supplies reliable and affordable. For that reason, ten years ago the Dutch government designated the area around the Eemshaven plant as sites for new power plants. RWE has built an ultramodern coal-fired power plant in Eemshaven. The plant has been operational since the summer of 2015.
Throughout this excursion, you will get to know RWE and the Eemshaven Power Plant, learn about the company’s responsibilities and activities through different presentations and pay a visit to the plant itself. During the day you will have the opportunity to ask questions and even discuss future career opportunities.
The program will include:
- Bus tour from Groningen Central Train Station to Eemshaven and back
- Introduction to RWE
- Presentations about the Eemshaven Power Plant
- Visit to the plant
