The focus within this function is on attracting new activities and (further) developing substantive projects for one of our focus areas: Biobased Economy (think of the agro, food, chemical energy sectors). In addition, you will be involved in ongoing projects and you will have to seek cooperation within and outside the team to turn chances into results. Together with regional parties you strengthen the economic activity and innovation capacity in the bio-economy in the Northern Netherlands with your efforts.

A typical day
In the morning you have a good conversation with a new relationship. You are considering helping them to realize their impressive (laboratory) growth ambitions and to realize the necessary contacts, cooperation and financing. You first call with two trusted ambassadors of the Campus to quickly get a picture of the feasibility of the plans, while simultaneously assessing their enthusiasm for a brainstorming meeting where you will need their knowledge. You decide together with the team to quickly write a proposal towards the new relationship. Your enthusiasm, tact and communication skills are crucial.
At the beginning of the afternoon you join a meeting about collaboration with the business community at the invitation of a researcher from your network. You learn that his faculty will invest in new lab facilities in the coming years. You grab the responsible project manager to his sleeve and convince him to immediately schedule an appointment with you, given the possible common ground with the ambitions of your new relationship.
Enthusiastically you come back to the office, where you join the monthly project meeting. You discuss the progress of your three current projects and indicate that you have spoken to two new companies that would potentially want to establish themselves on the Campus. You also tell about your new relationships. In the evening you check your e-mail and consider who else you will invite to the brainstorm session.
With your competences

- you maintain your existing and initiate your new contacts in your network;
- you constantly reinforce the proposition based on identified needs;
- translate your needs into concrete opportunities and projects for the team and yourself;
