Visitors of Campus Groningen who regularly passed by will have noticed: a brand new bus stop area has been built at the North Point of the UMCG, the UMCG North bus junction. It will be officially put in use on Tuesday 5 July. Alderman Philip Broeksma (GroenLinks) of Traffic and Deputy Fleur Gräper (D66) laid the last stone. This makes this area passable again for all traffic. Since Monday morning, 4 July, the buses have been driving in two directions on the Bloemsingel again. This means that the temporary diversion routes will be canceled.
Because more (no less than 7 bus lines) and longer (up to 24 meters) buses can stop in the renovated area, the UMCG is now even better accessible by bus. In addition, buses can pass through it better, bus passengers can transfer quickly and easily and cyclists can pass the junction safely. Waiting for the next bus is no punishment among all the greenery that has been planted there. This makes coming to the UMCG by bus even easier and more comfortable.
