The construction of Plus Ultra Groningen is in full swing on Zernike Campus, part of Campus Groningen. TNO has decided to move into this new multi-tenant building. TNO recently signed the long-term lease agreement with Kadans Science Partner.
TNO will lease the entire second floor, over 1800 m2, of Plus Ultra Groningen. Here TNO will focus on ICT and security, one of the key sectors of Zernike Campus. It is therefore a conscious decision for TNO to move from its current premises to the innovative campus.
Erik Peeters, Director of Operations TNO unit ICT: “In a short time, the Zernike Campus has developed into a hub for economic development at the intersection of research, education and entrepreneurship. The relocation of our facilities therefore offers us the opportunity to strengthen the cooperation with the University of Groningen (RUG), the Hanze University of Applied Sciences and the ICT and energy parties based there. The move will also bring the TNO office within walking distance of a number of initiatives in which TNO participates, such as the 5Groningen living lab, BuildinG and the HESI lab.”
The new Plus Ultra Groningen building offers office and laboratory space for innovative companies, knowledge and research institutions that want to build a strong community in the fields of energy, technology and sustainability together with Campus Groningen and Campus Groningen. By accommodating growing and established companies and organisations together in Plus Ultra Groningen, meetings and collaborations are stimulated.
Connections will be made between organisations on Campus Groningen, but also with organisations on other campuses. Plus Ultra Groningen is part of the international network of Kadans that connects various science parks and campuses in Europe. TNO is already a well-known name within this network and is already present in several Kadans buildings. Kadans is therefore delighted to also welcome TNO to Groningen.
The construction of Plus Ultra Groningen will top out very soon. Completion is expected in the third quarter of 2022.
