The new team of Top Dutch Solar Racing from Groningen won the dynamic parcours with a very fast lap during the iLumen European Solar Challenge. The iLumen European Solar Challenge is a 24-hour race on Circuit Zolder, that takes place every two years. The sustainability and aerodynamics of the solar cars are tested in this race. The 24-hour race started Saturday19 September at 13:00 hours and ended on Sunday 20 September at 13:00 hours. During the race, solar cars are allowed to charge the battery of their cars twice.

The iLumen European Solar Challenge is the first real challenge for the new Top Dutch Solar Racing team. ‘It is an excellent way to kick-off the challenging road to Australia,' says Aymar Berkel, the new team manager. ‘During the iESC we really learn how to collaborate and how to perform under pressure.'
