The Meet & Greet for students in Life Sciences on Tuesday 4 February were highly appreciated. Over 250 students visited this career expo in the EnergyBarn on Campus Groningen. The aim of the expo is to enable students of all courses of the Instituut voor Life Science & Technology to meet companies of the LIFE Cooperative, Bio Cooperative, Samenwerkende Bedrijven Eemsdelta and relations of the Kenniscentrum Biobased Economy and teh Institute for Life Science & Technology of the Hanze University of Applied Sciences.

This way, students get to know companies and organisations in the North timely, because they might find a job there after their studies. For the companies is it a great opportunity to present themselves to potential future employees. They can also enlarge the knowledge of the students on the job opportunities and the nature of their business.

Early contact is pivotal

During the opening of the event, Ton Vries (director Mercachem Syncom and chair of the LIFE Coop), explained the aim of the Meet & Greet. He stressed the importance for students to get to know the work field early on. After the opening, presentations were given by several companies. And of course there was ample opportunity for meeting each other. 

Companies of the LIFE Cooperative present: ABL/ Ardena, Certe, Gecco Biotech, IQ products, Spark Holland, Syncom, Polyvation, QPS, Innocore and Axon Medchem. Of the BIO Coop, the following companies were present: Bioclear Earth, Senbis and Syncom.
