A smart potatoe, is this really possible? Yes indeed, it has been developed recently thanks to four IT students of the Hanze University of Applied Sciences. They developed the potatoe at the Digital Society Hub, a testing ground of the Hanze University on Zernike Campus. The students have made a potatoe that sends information from within the ground to the farmer.
Smart Potatoe
The four students did their research on the smart potatoe commisioned by 5Groningen. They developed a potatoe that send information from the ground in realtime to the farmer. The user (farmer) can see the information in a web application. Check the video to the right (in Dutch) where the students, the farmer and 5Groningen explain their work.
And next?
Students of the program Sensor technology, Industrial Product design and IT will develop the potatoe further.
