In February 2020 the pilot project with shared cars of CommShare started on Campus Groningen. At that moment, the UMCG put into service the first ten electric shared cars. CommShare is the community sharing service for smart sharing of facilities of Campus Groningen. Because of the corona crisis, this pilot year has taken another turn. The shared cars concept CommShare offers a sustainable alternative to employees of the UMCG, who have travelled 19 thousand kilometers by now in the electric and hybrid shared cars. The employees of UMCG often use the cars of the mobility concept CommShare, since the start of the pilot on 10 February 2020. With the shared cars concept, 19 thousand kilometers have been travelled, says co-founder Stephan van der Veer of Pouw Rent to Fleet&Mobility. “Because of the corona crisis, our project has taken a surprising turn. The shared cars come in handy at the moment for house calls of nurses to patients who originally would be treated in the UMCG.”
