This weekend, students and staff of the University of Groningen, together with Staatsbosbeheer, placed a star dome in the Lauwersmeer National Park, one of the darkest places in the Netherlands. The new observatory is intended to be operational in September and will be used by students of the Kapteyn Instituut at the Zernike Campus Groningen.
