RIG subsidy of 15 million for Zernike Campus Groningen and Eemsdelta

Tue, 16 January 2018

From 7 February 2018 existing and new companies on Zernike Campus Groningen and in the Eemsdelta can again appeal to the Regional Investment Support Groningen (RIG). The fourth tranche of the scheme (RIG2018) will then start. This will free up the last 15 million euros from the total available 40 million. So far, the RIG has scored: 14 awards of a total of 15 million grants resulted in more than 76 million investments, and 201 direct jobs and approximately 120 indirect jobs.

Goals and initiators

The objectives of the RIG are to increase employment, strengthen the economic structure and innovation & greening of the industry. There is great interest in RIG. For example, in August the third tranche (RIG2017) had to be closed, in connection with exceeding the subsidy ceiling due to the large influx of projects.
