OOG Radio and Television moves this week to its new building at the Kadijk on the Zernike Campus Groningen. OOG has been in "De Studio" at the Akkerstraat since the mid-nineties.
"The arrival of OOG is a very nice development for Campus Groningen, location Zernike. The newly to be developed pop-up facility on the campus is an incubator relevant for OOG where entrepreneurship, research and education meet each other actively"
The local city broadcaster has been near the Noorderplantsoen for the past 25 years. "It is a beautiful building but the layout was not convenient", says director Evert Janse. "In addition, we want to focus more on cooperation with knowledge institutions such as the Hanze University of Applied Sciences and the University of Groningen. That is why it is great to be able to move to the Kadijk on the Zernike Campus Groningen. " Moving a radio and television broadcaster is a big challenge. We have chosen to just let the broadcasts continue", says Mark Hulsebosch who has prepared the move to perfection. "While there are still regular programs in the Akkerstraat, this week the Kadijk started building the studio and editorial rooms. And that is quite exciting because you depend on so many parties. But until now, I am satisfied. "
In addition to OOG, the new building will also house the Hanze University of Applied Sciences and the RuG. "We have access to the first floor, which means we have realized that production areas are very close together and that the lines are very short," says Janse.
