Wed, 21 May 2025

This week, Campus Groningen launches the fourth edition of its visibility campaign Place to Be. The campaign, which goes live this week and will be in the spotlight during the Half Marathon on Sunday, May 25, once again highlights inspiring stories and the many opportunities the campus has to offer.

Amber van der Schaaf, Communications and Community Manager, emphasizes the importance of the campaign: "We’re proud of the new participants and stories that showcase how powerful and diverse Campus Groningen is for young professionals. Place to Be invites everyone to discover these opportunities. The stories are prominently displayed in the exhibition on the Zernike Campus — also during the Groningen Half Marathon, powered by Campus Groningen, on Sunday, May 25. It's a great opportunity for participants and visitors to get inspired."

New Stories, New Opportunities

The Place to Be campaign features a new series of stories that reflect the diversity and career opportunities available on Campus Groningen. These stories are on display at Zernike Campus and shared through the website and social media channels. This year, the campaign not only celebrates career possibilities at companies located on Campus Groningen, but also affirms the campus’s role as a vibrant hub for students and young professionals.

The stories show how young talent finds its path on and around campus — for example, at Portal Biotech and OPUS Cactus. They share how they shape their careers at Campus Groningen. Inspiring examples that prove: this really is the Place to Be.

Inspiration on Zernike Campus

At Zernike Campus, a large-scale outdoor exhibition features life-sized display panels, each showcasing inspiring stories from students, interns, young professionals, and an employee working at a campus-based company. The exhibition will be on view for two weeks and forms the heart of the campaign. Visitors can experience firsthand the wide range of career opportunities Campus Groningen offers.
You’ll find the exhibition near the Duisenberg Pond / Foodcourt and Zernikeplein 7.

While the exhibition at Zernike is temporary, the stories remain available online — ready to inspire anytime, anywhere. Want to know more? Read all the stories here.
