The biobank Lifelines and Certe, specialist in medical diagnostics in Northern Netherlands start a new cooperation. For the third research round that starts in October, Lifelines will collaborate with Certe in the collection of data and biological samples.
Within Europe, the Northern Netherlands are an acknowledge frontrunner in the field of healthy ageing. The Lifelines study follows over 167,000 participants over a 30-year period. Every five years, participants visit one of the Lifelines sites in the northern parts of the Netherlands for an examination. During this visit, several physical measurements are made and participants are asked to fill in questionnaires. In addition, participants are invited to complete a follow-up questionnaire once every 1.5 years. You can find an overview of the collected data and samples for children and adults here.
