Make it in the North is the new online platform for finding jobs, staff, research; exporting opportunities, companies, news; and culture in the Northern Netherlands. The portal, is now live since Monday 24 June, and ready to show and share job openings, company profiles, and more.

Campus Groningen is one of the supporting partners of the new platform. Lisanne Brakenhoff, manager of Campus Groningen: "It's great that we now have a platform, where internationals and jobs can be matched. Attracting and keeping international talent is highly important for a vital Campus and region."

A unique opportunity to find jobs

The first and only of its kind in the Northern Netherlands, Make it in the North is the result of listening to both businesses and International people in the North. Companies are often worried about the future: with greater technology and an ever-expanding possible market finding the right highly-skilled talent can be hard. For International people who would like to stay in one of the happiest places in Europe, the portal offers a unique opportunity to find jobs that suit their skills, as well as finding insights into the Northern business ecosystem.

A wealth of information

Two initiatives under the Make it in the North umbrella have been live for some time: The Northern Times online newspaper, and the Here & Now cultural directory. The Northern Times now averages more than a thousand page views per day, whilst Here & Now has become the go-to place for finding everything from techno events to theatre productions in the North.

Aside from the job portal, users of Make it in the North will be able to access a wealth of information about the Northern Netherlands: from information about the most successful economic sectors, to a live map of all exporting companies, to a calendar of career events. Make it in the North will also be showcasing its own career events in the near future.

Company profile

Companies are invited to ‘claim their spot’, and populate their very own company profile on the portal- whilst jobs have already been listed on the website for those who would like to work in an International environment.
