For years, Lode Holding, a global supplier of medical technology, has been at the forefront of its sustainability policy. Johannes Wolters, CEO: 'Our products have a long lifespan (+15 years), are highly recyclable, and our processes generate minimal waste.' Furthermore, the company avoids toxic and hard-to-decompose substances, and its packaging materials are largely made from biomaterials.

Making energy consumption sustainable

In recent years, Lode Holding has made significant investments in making their energy consumption more sustainable. It didn't stop at energy-saving measures. Johannes: 'We primarily generate our own energy with 300 solar panels. We've also improved insulation and lighting during renovations and installed a climate control system. Now, the offices are comfortably cool in the summer and wonderfully warm in the winter.' Only the substantial factory hall and warehouse couldn't be connected to this, to the disappointment of the company and its employees. Johannes: 'That's why we are incredibly happy and proud to be able to make our factory hall more sustainable by connecting it to WarmteStad.'

Expansion of sustainable heat on Zernike Campus

After the initial contact, things moved quickly: an inspection provided insight into the possibilities, and the parties quickly reached agreement on the business side as well. Michel Meun, account manager at WarmteStad: 'We're proud to connect Lode Holding to our sustainable heating network. This not only expands our heating network on the Zernike Campus but also actively contributes to a gas-free neutral city by Lode Holding.'

WarmteStad and Lode Holding also share Northern pragmatism and entrepreneurial spirit – a 'can do' mentality. This means that as of December 1st this year, Lode Holding will be using WarmteStad's facilities!
