Two times in a row very good news for the UMCG: researchers of the UMCG receive large grants to do research. It involves a grant for research after spaghetti-shaped proteins and two Vici-grants of 1,5 million euros. Read more on these projects in the articles of the UMCG.
Millions for research after spaghetti-shaped proteins
Researchers of the UMCG, the University of Groningen and the TU Delft have received a grant of about 2,5 million euros of NWO. With this funding, they will research intrinsically disordered proteins, that are involved in aggregation pathologies such as Parkinson’s disease and ALS.

Two Vici grants of 1,5 million euros for UMCG researchers
UMCG researchers Judith Rosmalen and Liesbeth Veenhoff both have received a Vici grant of 1,5 million euros. With this funding of the Dutch Research Council (NWO), both scientists can develop a innovative research project in the next five years.
