It's official: the first pipe for the heat net of WarmteStad has been layed in the ground at Zernike Campus Groningen on Friday 7th of July 2017, in the presence of municipal counsillor Gijsbertsen, director Riksta Zwart of the Water Company Groningen and director Dick Takkebos of WarmteStad.
On the road to Sustainable Groningen 2035
This day marks a new milestone on the road to Groningen Sustainable in 2035. With this new heat net, Groningen can further shape it's sustainable ambitions and make them reality. With the earth heat that will be tapped at the Campus, about 10.000 house holds and organisations can be provided with energy. This will help to switch off gas al together in the future.
