Since September 2, the Anda Kerkhoven Centre on the Healthy Ageing Campus has been in use by the University of Groningen and the UMCG. This modern building provides space for education, training, and development for more than 2,000 students and staff, primarily pharmacy and medical students. Named after Anda Kerkhoven, a resistance fighter from Groningen and a medical student, the centre has become an inspiring place where the past and future meet in the care for tomorrow.
The Healthy Ageing Campus, part of Campus Groningen, is known as a hub for innovative research and collaboration in health and care, making it the ideal location for this new educational center. Together, we are working here to address the challenges and solutions of the future.
Friday 25 October was the official grand opening. Several speakers said a piece, authors who wrote a book about Anda spoke, and UG house poet Femke de Heer recited a poem.
'This stylish new building creates a beautiful healthy environment and connects the Campus to the city. A nice place for students and teachers with a view of Martinitoren!' - Bert Schoenmaker, director Faculty of Medical Sciences
