Campus Groningen is buzzing with energy. It’s a place where people work, learn, research, innovate, play sports and build the future. That energy will quite literally be set in motion again on Friday 12 September 2025 during the Campus Trail: a 6.4-kilometre fun run right through offices, labs, sports fields and surprising spots on the Zernike Campus. In the lead-up to the event, we’ve launched the ‘Frontrunners of Campus Groningen’ campaign this week. In it, we’re portraying people who show what movement on campus really means. Whether cycling to work every day, training for the Trail, or contributing to innovation and health — each story adds to the bigger picture.

The first Frontrunner, Richard Oude Breuil from the Real Estate Organization at the University of Groningen, kicked things off this week. Over 200 runners have already signed up for the Campus Trail — the energy is building, and there’s still plenty of room to join in.
