EnTranCe gets unique hydrogen line

Mon, 16 December 2019

In the energy testing ground EnTranCe on Zernike Campus , a new hydrogen line will be build. This line will be added to the current ring line network for warm water, cold water, electricity and gas. This network keeps EnTranCe completely self-sufficient. The hydrogen line offers companies, researchers and students an opportunity to do extensive research after sustainable energy.

Sustainable energy supply

Hydrogen is an important element in a sustainable energy supply in the future. Besides that, hydrogen is a n energy vector that can store energy, generated by the sun and the wind, until it is needed at another time. Storing sustainable energy is not really possible at the moment, and with hydrogen, it would be. The start of the build of the hydrogen line is in January 2020, according to plans. In April 2020 it should be ready for use.
