Energy was the topic of the recent, well-attended Campus Cafe on Thursday March 15. A lot of first-time visitors were attracted by this theme, that has received a lot of attention recently. Energy and energy transition is a problem that concerns us all, and that is high on the agenda on Campus Groningen especially.
Energy transition and the New Energy Coalition
Most appropriate in this respect was the venue of this event, the Energy Academy Europe on Zernike Campus Groningen. This very sustainable building, completed in 2017, and crowned most sustainable education building in the Netherlands, is the home of several organisations that focus on energy. This also goes for the recently established New Energy Coalition (NEC). This organisation aims at the energy transition, and director Gertjan Lankhorst gave an insight in the planns and ambitions of the NEC.
Ron van der Weerd, programm manager Real Estate and Campus development of the Hanze University of Applied Sciences pointed during his introduction at the many developments and projects running this year and the year to come on Campus Groningen. These include the restructuring of the Zernikelaan, the new built of the Feringa Building and the semi-finals of the Young Business Awards on March 27.
