Campus Groningen welcomed a delegation of the Start-up scene from Bremen (Germany) on June the 21th in Groningen, to show the visitors how the start-up scene in Groningen works. Earlier this year, the mayor of Bremen visited Campus Groningen. In return, eleven start-up companies from Groningen went on a field trip to Bremen on June 1.
The colleagues from Bremen are interested in the innovatiev solutions of the start up ecosytem in Groningen. Which opportunities offers Groningen to the start ups, which funding options are available and what can Bremen learn fron this? All in all a very inspiring day, including a visit to The Big Building and to Start-up City on Zernike Campus.
Speakers such as Nick Stevens (Groningen Digital City), Ralph Steenbergen (The Big Building), Jessica Mills (Founded In Groningen), Aard Groen (VentureLab North), Frans Donders (Cube050) and Edward van der Meer (Campus Groningen) gave a sound impression of the Groninger start up ecosytem to the visitors from Bremen. The tour ended with a debate with the predecessors from the Groninger start up funding system, and of course some drinks and a shared meal.
To sum it up: a very usefull day with lots of positive feedback, and the intention for further cooperation between Groningen and Bremen!
