It was a great year online for Campus Groningen last year! Lost of posts, many new followers and lovely interactions on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instragram and YouTube in 2019. We have made an infographic again of the top ranking posts and other highlights.
Top scorers and highlights
Just like last year, posts on efforts to get the Campus smoke-free attracted a lot of attention online. On Facebook the news about a smoke-free UMCG was one of the most popular posts. Also the opening of the new Food Court on Zernike Campus scored well. This popularity is reflected in the number of people finding their way there to grab a lunch or dinner.
On Instagram we saw a great rise in the number of followers. End of December we counted 832! Followers on this medium were most enthusiastic about the third edition of the Campus Trail, that took place on 20 September 2019.
People and organisations following the Campus on Twitter are often very happy to see very practical news, such as updates on the building plans and construction works on both locations, the Healthy Ageing Campus and the Zernike Campus. Real highlights in this respect were posts on the construction of the Feringa Building and the Upgrade of the Zernikelaan. Top scorer? The news on the 5 Christmas trees that adorned the Zernike Campus, from early December up until early January. We ow many thanks to the Geodienst of the University of Groningen, because they fixed a great GIF with the locations of these twinkling trees!
On LinkedIn we really saw a rise in interactions with our posts, with a few large outliers, such as the news on the award that prof. dr. Katja Loos of the UG won in December. This post received up until now 164 likes, and even better: the story is being read and shared a lot. And rightly so!
CampusTV
CampusTV took off nicely last year. Over 40 items of Campus Kort and Rondje Campus on YouTube and on our social media saw the light. These broadcasts that Campus Groningen makes together with OOG TV en Radio, are getting more and more views and shares. We love to put these great stories on life, work and study on Campus Groningen even more in the spotlight in 2020.
