How did Campus Groningen perform online in 2018? That's what we asked ourselves in the start of this new year. As it turns out: Campus Groningen is not only the fastest growing Campus in the Netherlands, but the online results are also booming! Both our website and our social media show a strong increase in visitors and engagement. We very happy and proud about that! We have made an infographic to share these results.
Over 76% more website visitors
The first thing that cought our eye was the strong increase in number of visitors to our website: on average more than 76% than in 2017. People searched a lot after the companies and economic activities on our website. One of the most popular news items was the article on the proclamation of Campus Groningen as fastest growing Campus in the Netherlands, an event that made us very proud in 2018. Also the items on all the building ambitions on Zernike Campus and on the Healthy Ageing Campus attracted a lot of readers, such as the news on the new development of the North Entrance of the Healthy Ageing Campus.
Popular on social media
On the social media we had a great premier last year: the first episodes of our new series CampusTV, that went on air in november! With this tv program that we develop together with OOGTV, we want to introduce all citizens of Groningen to what is happening on the Campus. Suzan de Grijs, presneter: "For many people in the city, Campus Groningen is actually an unknown part of the city. Of course they see the companies from the outside, but what exactly happens inside? With CampusTV, we first want to show everyone what is invented, researched and carried out here." All episodes of CampusTV can be found on our YouTube channel.
Final sprint
On the other social media of Campus Groningen (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn) CampusTV was popular immediately after airing. Remarkable was, to end with, the final sprint of the news item on the start of the smoke-free policy of the UMCG at the end of December. Thousands of people read this item on LinkedIn and Twitter and thereby making it the most popular item on these two media.
