Frontrunners Dirk Messemaker & Pulsie

“It’s really all about having fun,” says Dirk Messemaker, director of SE Factory, on joining the Campus Trail. “Of course we want to be visible as a company, but the main thing is doing something active together.” 

SE Factory develops and produces equipment for EMDR therapy, a proven treatment for trauma and distressing experiences. At the end of 2023, they moved into their new building on the Zernike Campus. “We enjoy being part of the community here. Events like this are perfect for that. So once again, we’ll be at the starting line with our company team.” 

One eye-catching detail is the presence of their mascot, Pulsie, a playful nod to SE Factory’s products. “We hand out stickers with slogans like ‘May the Pulse be with you.’ It sticks with people, even at events like conferences,” Dirk says with a laugh. 

An avid runner himself, Dirk often uses the campus surroundings for a run along the Van Starkenborgh Canal. “Exercise helps, also mentally. After a run, I often see things from a different perspective.”
