In this webinar, organised by the company MercachemSyncom and the UMCG, the principals of Positron Emission Tomography (PET) are highlighted, showing that this medical imaging technique is able to visualize pathophysiological processes with high precision. Furthermore examples are given demonstrating the crucial role of radioactive labelled pharmaceuticals in PET.

By utilization of the combined expertise e.g. organic synthesis of new and existing (precursors of) radio-ligands (MercachemSyncom) and subsequent PET studies (UMCG) novel PET radiopharmaceuticals can be developed in a very efficient way. Several examples of such a fruitful collaboration are being presented. These examples show that by PET imaging drug development can be accelerated dramatically.

With the collaboration between UMCG and MercachemSyncom a unique service has been added to our product portfolio to support pharmaceutical industry (target engagement) and health care professionals (patient stratification).
