About René
René is an experienced executive and expert in the biotechnology field. He holds a biochemical engineering degree from Delft University of Technology, a PhD in Environmental Technology from Wageningen University/Wetsus, and an Executive MBA from IMD Business School in Switzerland. He has previously served as Chief Technology Officer at Paques, a global leader in biological wastewater and gas treatment.
Inspired by nature's problem-solving capabilities, René is passionate about developing sustainable solutions for a circular economy. His vision is a human society in complete harmony with nature.
During the VentureClass, René will cover the global plastic problem, the pressing need for a transition to sustainable materials, and his insights on scaling up capital-intensive technologies.
