Studium Generale | Kenniscafé | AI: slimmer dan de mens? | Rix Groenboom, Niels Taatgen and Ayla Kangur

Self-driving cars, cancer diagnostics, or a bachelor's thesis written with the help of the chatbot Chat GPT. Artificial intelligence is being employed in every conceivable way. The possibilities are spectacular and seem endless, but is AI superior in every aspect? What can artificial intelligence already accomplish, and what can't it? Are we increasingly entrusting decision-making to smart algorithms in the future? It's important to consider ethical and legal questions with every new application. What are the advantages and disadvantages of these self-learning systems? And how can we use them to better understand human intelligence?

In this Knowledge Café, moderator Ruth Koops van ‘t Jagt discusses these questions with various scientists and the audience. Lector New Business & ICT Rix Groenboom (Hanze University) explains why AI is developing so rapidly. Professor of Artificial Intelligence Niels Taatgen (UG) demonstrates why he believes the human brain is still much more spectacular than AI. Ayla Kangur has 9 years of experience building commercial AI products. She will engage in conversation about the ethical issues surrounding these applications.
