What is the Philips Innovation Award?
PHIA is an annually award for the best student entrepreneur. The process:
Phase 1: In the ‘Idea Stage’ you will get to know the PHIA during a two hours seminar. You will listen to an interesting key note speaker and you will get the chance to write down your idea. Feedback will be given afterwards. A few persons have te possibility to pitch their idea: the best idea wins a price! The ideas will be collected nationally en the 100 best ideas get 100 euros!
Phase 2: In the ‘Development Stage’ you can choose if you want to continue or not. If you want to continue you have to write an executive summary (A4). An external company will look at your summary critically and will give you some feedback. Afterwards you can make a start on your business plan. It shall be assessed by a business panel of the PHIA.
Phase 3: In the ‘Refining Stage’ the 40 till 50 best students will be chosen to pass through. In this phase the participants improve their product, the pitch and the promotion. You will pitch your product for potential investors and you will promote your product on al real entrepreneurial market.
Phase 4: In the ‘Final Stage’ only seven participants can present their idea to the outside world. During this period the pitch will be optimized. The one who will convince the jury wins 50.000 euros!
