Inspiration session From Research to Business
On Thursday the 8th of December, Business Generator Groningen, The RUG IP team and The UMCG Innovation Center together will organise the Inspiration session From Research to Business. For researchers from the RUG and UMCG this is the session to learn more about the (im)possibilities of marketing research.
Business Generator Groningen, The RUG IP team and The UMCG Innovation Center organise this afternoon because an ever-increasing group of researchers make an economical ánd social impact through marketing their research.
Research and entrepreneurship
Anne Been, Director of the valorisation cooperation of both the RUG and the UMCG and Director of Business Generator Groningen: “More and more researchers know how to find their way to the market successfully. But we also see that the road to the market can sometimes be full of obstacles. The good news is that both the RUG as well as the UMCG value the process of valorisation and that they have put it on top of their strategic agenda. They offer researchers support in terms of protecting their invention, drawing up license agreements and by introducing them to accelerator programs and investors. By organising this inspiration session, we want to show researchers the market potential of their research and what is needed to market their product/service successfully. Our main goal is to initiate a first contact with entrepreneurial researchers to discover how we can support them. Because marketing research still requires a tailored approach, and we are more than happy to help and support researchers throughout this process.”
Other entrepreneurial researchers will share their experiences
Hearing about experiences from other entrepreneurial researchers who have successfully found their way to the market will be an important part of the programme. Erik Frijlink, Professor Pharmaceutical Technology and Biopharmacy ánd entrepreneur within the field of effective medication administration and UMCG researcher ánd Founder of the successful start-up Ancora Health, Rahul Gannamani, will share their experiences and they will elaborate on both their successes ánd their failu
