The Groningse 4daagse is the new hiking event in the Netherlands, where athleticism, culture, and conviviality come together. From Tuesday, August 5 to Friday, August 8, 2025, you will walk in four stages through the finest offerings of Groningen – from the vibrant city center to the tranquility of the vast countryside. Starting and finishing each day at the charming Grote Markt, up to 3,000 participants can choose between distances of 20 or 40 kilometers.
Along the way, you'll discover picturesque villages, historic sites, and beautiful nature, with plenty of opportunities to enjoy local delicacies, music, and camaraderie. The Groningse 4daagse is more than just a hiking tour – it's a celebration of connection and Groningen pride, designed for everyone who loves movement, experience, and the northern spirit.

Do you want to participate in the very first edition of the Groningse 4daagse this summer? Great! Below you'll find all the information on participation, ticket types, rates, and terms. The Groningse 4daagse offers a unique 4-day hiking experience – starting and finishing at the Grote Markt in the heart of Groningen. You can choose to walk either 20 or 40 kilometers per day. All participants will receive support along the way and an official memento after completion.
