Businesses, government organizations, and knowledge institutions are working together in the north of the Netherlands on an economy that recycles raw materials as much as possible. With great enthusiasm, all parties are shaping an increasingly concrete circular economy.  The initiators want to share their approach and the gained results with the rest of the world. Discover the practical design of inspiring, circular entrepreneurship on October 5. 

Circular entrepreneurship in practice

During the congress, the focus will be on the current status in 2017, and we will look, with the help of different themes, at the steps that must be taken to secure a circular economy. These subjects have their own focus and one common theme: circular entrepreneurship in practice.

During this day, you can choose Zernike Campus Groningen as one of your destination. The theme of the tour on Zernike Campus is sustainable energy. 

On the Zernike Campus, the focus is on knowledge and entrepreneurship in the north of the Netherlands regarding sustainable energy, green chemistry, and bio-economy (bio-based economy). Zernike Campus Groningen is a lively, ambitious environment for research and innovation; the place where business and knowledge institutions come together. They effectively convert this knowledge into concrete products and services. Several educational institutions, businesses, and government organizations work together on the development of the Campus. The working visit to the Zernike Campus is still in development and will feature different aspects of the innovative ecosystem, for example:

  • ZAP, de Zernike Advanced Processing facility,
  • Entrance, the Energy Transition Centre,
  • CCC, Carbohydrate Competence Centre,
  • Bio-economy innovation Centre with a company as Avebe (potato starch- & proteins)
  • BERNN, Biobased Region Northern Netherlands,
  • The MKB cooperative for Biobased Economy
  • BioBrug
  • Small innovative businesses on Campus, etc.

A program is being made with visits to energy transition organizations and the organization regarding green raw materials.
