The Province of Groningen and the NAM allocated € 97.5 million in 2014 to give a new impulse to the "earthquake economy". In order to spend this amount in a responsible manner, the Economic Board Groningen (EBG) was established.
The EBG program has a total duration of five years (2014 - 2018). EBG is not going to provide growth itself, but will enable others to make plans that can strengthen the economy in the region. Until 2018, EBG will invest in:
- The quality of human capital
- The quality of entrepreneurship
- A good financial climate
- Improving digital accessibility
- Strengthening of powerful sectors, clusters and business networks
