Sustainable mobility UMCG

The UMCG also makes a serious effort to achieve sustainable mobility. It encourages its employees to use bike, e-bike or public transport and use their cars less to travel to the UMCG. Accompanying measures are a new parking policy and an extended fiscal cycle settlement (to purchase an ebike). The UMCG Accesible team can be seen regularly on information markets and on May 7 there was a 'biclycle market', where employees could test ebikes and speed pedelecs.

"My commute is actually very easy with an ebike"

“By borrowing an ebike from the UMCG, I learned that my commute is easy with an ebike. I used to travel by motorcycle, but now I cycle 30 kilometers almost every day. En the best thing is: now that I get more exercise, I feel inspired to look after my health more. I eat more healthily and I work out more." - Denny Pelupessy, Project manager Building and Facilities UMCG
