Proxima: Temporary Student Housing Zernike Campus

The municipality of Groningen, in collaboration with the University of Groningen and Hanze University of Applied Sciences Groningen, has entered into an agreement with SSH to create 400 units for international students on the Zernike Campus. SSH will carry out and manage the accommodation. This involves temporary housing for a period of 10 years, with the aim of rapidly increasing the availability of housing for international students.

Peak capacity

In case of peak demand, the units can be divided and doubled to 800 residences. The goal is to have the housing ready by August 2024, making them habitable for students from September 1, 2024. These are modular units designed for long-term use as living spaces. Additionally, efforts will be made to create a pleasant living environment for the residents. The location is situated on Zernike Campus near Zernike Park and De Koegangen.
