Polyganics, a medical technology company developing, manufacturing and commercializing bioresorbable medical devices, is expanding its capacity with a new facility at the Zernike Campus, Groningen, to enter a new phase of commercial and R&D growth.
Design and planning
Polyganics will build a dedicated new site, which will house its headquarters, state-of-the-art research laboratories and expanded manufacturing and packaging facilities. The purpose-built facility will provide the space to ensure that the company can continue to develop and deliver a reliable supply of bioresorbable medical devices to its customers and remain at the forefront of research and manufacturing excellence. Sax Architecten designs the building, in collaboration with Ingenieursbureau Dijkhuis and Installatiebedrijf Deerns.
Planning
As planning stands, construction will start in the beginning of 2020 and will be finished in 2021.

Update December 2020
The new built of Polyganics is right on track, says contractor Jorritsma Bouw. "The design is now coming to life, with fluent lines and a lot of glass at the visible side. The building will contain the main branch and ‘state-of-the-art’ production laboratoria. This provides Polyganics with a building that - with 6000 m2 floor area - offers ample space to facilitate the promising growth prospects. As coordinating constructor, we support the client as much as possible. With interface management we aim for quality and we keep grip on the tight schedule. This works well, because we are on track with the construction works". In 2021 the company will move into the new building on Zernike Campus.
Update July 2020
The new built of the company Polyganics, specialist in medical technology, on Campus Groningen progresses nicely! In their new building on Zernike Campus, there will be the headquarters, ultramodern research laboratories and extended production and packing facilities. CampusTV visited the building site and spoke to Marleen Schoonen and Jan Disbergen of Polyganics. Video in Dutch.
Update March 2021
The finishing of the new built of Polyganics is almost ready. The company plans to start the move to the new building in week 15 (12 April onward). This move from the current location at the Rozenburglaan in Groningen will be done in phases. In week 15, employees with office jobs will move to the new building. In the period after that, the production unit will follow. By the end of 2021 the whole company should have moved to the new facility on Zernike Campus.
